Well, today marks the end of our holidays and our return to work tomorrow. I am a little grumpy, the same way most people are, I think, before they have to go back to work, even though I know it will all be good when we get there, and that I will even enjoy myself because I actually like my job.

What I will miss about holidays: sleeping in, getting up late, playing console games all day, and being able to hang out with friends at the drop of a hat. What I won’t miss about holidays: that vague feeling I always get that I should be doing something more useful, not appreciating my time off enough, having a proper schedule again, and getting enough sleep (usually).

These holidays have been particularly fun-filled because Steve + Alex + the most beautiful baby in the world, Emilia, have been visiting. And we bought ourselves a PS3!

what’s been happening in my world?

the chest infection i had, for 3 weeks even after hardcore antibiotics, turned out to be my childhood asthma returning for a whirlwind reunion tour, according to a gp at my medical centre. he prescribed to me ventolin and symbicort and i am feeling better, but i just have to wait and see if this is a long term issue, or just one of particularly bad chest infectioning. i’m not too worried as long as i have medication. medication makes everything nicely.

i suppose you want an explanation for the slight changes to the site, eh? …

theres this guy at work who doesnt listen, and freaks out all the time. its really annoying. but he’s really great. so i think thats even worse. you never know what to expect - if he’s in a good mood, he’s your best friend; if not, forget it. and we all know how much i love unpredictability.

i’m now using mozilla firefox as my browser. its pretty cool. i know though i’m just going to get even more confused between my box o’love (home pc - must take pics and post), and my box o’hate (work). so yes, thats right kids - my new pc is completed! yay!! well, except for the transfering of old hard drive stuff to new hard drive. its so sexy. black case, door, blue lights. nnce nnce. hell yeah. am totally chuffed, ’specially cos i made it and stuff.

i really like unreal tournament. but now its time for queer eye!

i bought computer goodies yesterday! yay! but i still need a cpu and a new hard drive. but when it’s finished, it will be my first ever bought computer!! yay! its beautiful. and when its completed, i promise i will post a piccie of my new baby, in all her shiny black glory.

but the best bit about my new pc? i’m making it myself! along with the network cables i made yesterday, and helping kurt do some wiring for work, i’m feeling pretty smart. and now if i just get into coding, i’ll be all geeked up. heh. :)

having monday off really throws my whole week out. its disturbing that someone’s state of mind can rest so heavily on routine! so, work’s really busy again now - my boss is back from leave, and i’ve just had 2 four-day weeks but is okay, i think …

alex came over on thursday night, and it was very goodly. we just ate pizza, drank beer and wine, and talked. she bought cake! woo!

boys came over on friday night, and we played munchkin. that was so cute, and so much fun. dan and i had never played it before, and because the game went on for ages, everyone got a bit tired, but i think much fun was still had by all. and further evidence on how good this house is - even with 5 males and me (heh!) in the living area, it didn’t feel claustrophobic! i like people coming over - its fun.

i have new flat screen monitor goodness. mmm. is very pretty. and its good too because i can actually carry it, unlike the last monitor i had. am saving up to get a whole new computer too. just need to buy a couple more box sets of buffy, and computer, and i think that’s everything on my shopping list covered. i always need clothes and shoes (just one of my female failings, i think - meh) but they’re nowhere near as fun to buy or play with as geeky stuff / av stuff.
